Two projects managed and designed by Cushman & Wakefield have been shortlisted in the prestigious British Council of Offices (BCO) Awards.

First, the ACCA building in Glasgow is up for the Fit Out Award in the BCO 2017 Scottish Awards and, also, Heathrow Approach, West London has been shortlisted in the Refurbished/Recycled workplace category in the BCO 2017 South of England & South Wales Awards.

ACCA Glasgow

Cushman & Wakefield was appointed in 2013 by ACCA to deliver its global real estate strategy. In 2016 ACCA sought to consolidate 600 people from its two existing offices in Glasgow into one location and acquired space over three floors at 110 Queen Street in the city centre. The Project Management & Consultancy team, led by Stuart Dorward (International Partner) was commissioned to design the new office interior with a particular focus on ACCA’s brand. The result is a modern, functional space, and aligns with the language of ACCA’s London office; immediate feedback from ACCA’s staff has also been very positive. The office was officially opened on 6 February by The Princess Royal.

Heathrow Approach, London

The London Project Management & Consultancy team was appointed by Sampension KP International and La Française Real Estate Partners International in 2014 to completely overhaul what was previously known as the ‘Honda Building’, located in a prominent position on the M4. The brief was to upgrade the 83,000 sq ft building in order to relaunch it back onto the market for leasing. The team including Project Management, Interior Design and Cost Consultancy undertook a full category A refurbishment to breathe new life back into a tired building using enhanced architectural features to draw the eye away from the existing old brickwork and create a new look for the building. Together with the new hard landscaping enhancing the visitor experience, Heathrow Approach is now virtually unrecognisable from its original state.

Established in 1992, the BCO Awards recognise top quality office design and functionality which provide a benchmark for excellence in workplace. The winners of the BCO Scottish Awards will be announced on 7 April whilst the South of England awards ceremony will take place on 4 May.
