Enterprise Zones and Economic Development

Cushman & Wakefield has an extensive track record in advising Local Enterprise Partnerships and Local Authorities across the country on the delivery of their Enterprise Zones, advising 20 of the 24 legacy zones on a national basis.

There are several key factors for the successful implementation of an EZ, including:

  • A full appreciation of the commercial property and development markets and how to address any obstacles to development (such as financial viability)
  • An understanding of the EZ machinery and how this can be used
  • Clear governance arrangements between the LEP, the accountable body, and other stakeholders.

Case Studies

We were appointed to advise the Derbyshire County Council in the development and expansion of the site, in particular in utilising the incentives afforded by EZ status.
